Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture through Google authentication. This information is provided by Google when you sign in.

Family Information

To provide our co-parenting services, we collect information about your family structure, including children's names, dates of birth, and custody arrangements. This information is necessary for scheduling and coordination features.

Custody & Calendar Data

We store custody schedules, parenting time arrangements, and calendar events that you create within the application. If you connect Google Calendar, we export custody events to your calendar but do not import or read your existing calendar data.

Communication Data

Messages, updates, and notes shared between co-parents within the app are stored to facilitate communication and maintain a record of co-parenting discussions.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe may collect payment information in accordance with their privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain our co-parenting services
  • Enable custody schedule management and calendar synchronization
  • Facilitate communication between co-parents
  • Process subscription payments
  • Send important notifications about your account and family activities
  • Improve our services and develop new features

Data Sharing Between Co-Parents

By using WeParent, you agree that certain information will be shared with your linked co-parent(s) within the same family group. This includes custody schedules, shared calendar events, family updates, tasks, and messages sent through the platform. This sharing is essential for the co-parenting coordination features of our service.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Clerk (Authentication)

Manages user authentication and account security.

Supabase (Database)

Stores application data securely in the European Union.

Stripe (Payments)

Processes subscription payments securely.

Google Calendar (Optional Integration)

Exports custody events to your personal calendar when enabled.

Children's Privacy

WeParent is designed for parents to coordinate care for their children. While we store basic information about children (names and dates of birth) as provided by parents, children do not have their own accounts and do not directly interact with our service. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 16.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As a user in the European Union, you have the right to:

  • Access – Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification – Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure – Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict Processing – Request limitation of data processing
